Grieving is a personal and highly individual experience. How you cope with grief and loss depends on many factors, including your personality and coping style, your life experience, your faith, and the nature of the loss.

The grieving process takes time. Healing happens gradually. It can’t be forced or hurried and there is no “normal” timetable for grieving. Some people start to feel better in weeks or months. For others, the grieving process is measured in years. Whatever your grief experience, it’s important to be patient with yourself and allow the process to naturally unfold.

And while there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy and unhealthy ways of coping with the pain. This subliminal session will help ease you through the process by allowing you to experience and process your emotional pain without fear or denial so that you can:

  • Face your feelings and deal with them. Denying your emotions, or numbing them with drugs or alcohol, will only prolong the grieving process.
  • Express your feelings in a creative and meaningful way. Write about your loss in a journal. If you’ve lost a loved one, write a letter saying the things you never got to say; make a scrapbook or photo album celebrating the person’s life; or get involved in a cause or organization that was important to him or her.
  • Look after your physical health. When you feel good physically, you’ll also feel better emotionally. Combat stress and fatigue by getting enough sleep, eating right, and exercising.
